Song of the Day

Lady Antebellum - Need You Now

Picture perfect memories,
Scattered all around the floor.
Reaching for the phone cause, I can’t fight it any more.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.

It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now.
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.

Another shot of whiskey, can’t stop looking at the door.
Wishing you’d come sweeping in the way you did before.
And I wonder if I ever cross your mind.
For me it happens all the time.

It’s a quarter after one, I’m a little drunk,
And I need you now.
Said I wouldn’t call but I lost all control and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.

Yes I’d rather hurt than feel nothing at all.
It’s a quarter after one, I’m all alone and I need you now.
And I said I wouldn’t call but I’m a little drunk and I need you now.
And I don’t know how I can do without, I just need you now.
I just need you now.
Oh baby I need you now.

Still got a lot of boot left to fill..

Yes, I know. It's been forever since I've written anything on here. Sorry, but I've been beyond busy. My big event was a little over a week ago and it rained, with said event being an outdoor event--it was horrible. Oh well though, I know a lot of people who lost everything in the flooding that occured after I closed my gates on that Sunday evening.

So what's been going on? Work, out twice, and work.

Let's start with the fun stuff. I LOVED the Eric Church concert I went to a few weeks ago. Seriously, even with a broken foot the boy rocks! It was a great time. I had an extra ticket so my friend Vivi (yes, we have the same name) invited one of her guy friends who is about my age. (Vivi is about 20 years older than I.) Anyways, we danced the night away and had a blast until his ex and her teenybopper friends needed a ride home. Ever have that happen? It was not good. I got mad because we had to keep pulling over for them to puke and said boy as well. Vivi's husband, after we'd already dropped of boy and his ex's friend at his house, told me I should go back over there and kick the girl out. I thought about it, but decided better of it seeing as his parents sold their house and are living in his basement. That's all I need to be the talk of the town. Anyways, it was the most fun I've had since well--March maybe? It was a good time! That following week we went to see Phil Vassar who is awesome! Any guy who can play the piano like that and look that good in a pair of jeans is great to me!

So my event was wet. I am really hoping that it will be okay. Do I want to do it again next year? Not specifically at this point. There is no way I can do it again with only 1 other person really helping with it. Oh well, I paid hot boys to sing to me. It's amazing what they'll do if you are the one signing the checks! ha!

What else? I am tired, I sleep all the time. My big gala event is coming up in a few weeks and I bought the dress. Yup, it's even early for me to find a dress. I've been burned so much with this event that I don't even care. It just happens to be the day after the guys birthday that ruined the event for me in the first place. Wahoo! Haha, that is old history--but for some reason I always think about the money I wasted on that event!

I may be going to Savannah this fall! I haven't been there in years! Hopefully it will be a good trip--might be kinda random but it should be fun... I'll make it fun! I'm also going to a Gary Allan show in November and Bryan White is coming to my town in a few weeks! And two days before that there is the Chris Young show! Music is the one thing that makes my life good these days. Honestly, I don't see anyone or do anything but music heals the soul. Well, unless it makes you cry--but even that is healing. Seriously. I bawled at the Eric Church concert even when dancing with a great gorgeous guy, but some songs will always remind you of someone else--they remind you of the friend you once knew.

About the job... I want my life back. I am so tired of working for nothing. I've come to accept a lot of things in my life but I'm going to fight this one. Either I have to start getting home before eight on a regular day, leading up to my event it was more like eleven, or I've got to make some changes. What changes? Following my dreams. I've already learned that I can live without seeing friends, that's normal. So what's a ten hour move from your home? No biggie. Come one dice--I need to get lucky!

So I know that all of this is random, but that is the way my brain is right now. It's like mush! I feel like I keep going in circles. Though, I am getting ready to order my Halloween Costume! I'm so thrilled! I LOVE IT! I can't wait!! What is it!? Why Sookie of course! I'm totally addicted to True Blood! The books were better than the TV show, but who could resist Vampire Eric? I also just read Mr. Darcey Vampyre. Interesting... very interesting!

Otherwise, someone needs to take my phone away from me before I do something I might regret. Or would I? Not sure, I think I'll keep the phone.

What If?

So it's been awhile. Now don't take that as meaning I no longer have (Mis)Adventures or that I have all of the answers to my What if's! Seriously it seems any time I get close to figuring it out a million other what if's pop up!!

Do we ever really have all the answers? OR over time do the questions just change?

I'm moving on... at last I can see....

So as I thought, I work all the time. This new job is beginning to get to me. Everyone says I look tired, my friends swear I've abandoned them and I don't even care what a single person thinks anymore. Tough.

I work all the time but to get where I want to be in life (self sufficient and happy) I have to. I have come to understand that I'm not meant to be in a relationship for any length of time so I might as well work. It makes it easier to realize that I'm not the girl to be desired. I'll have my meetings and charge my strawberry shortcake to the office thank you very much.

When I get home I just want to sleep. I don't care how much fun I could have on a weekend--why does it matter? It isn't like it matters that I'm not doing anything. Life goes on, I've learned that the hard way. People have their own lives and their own happiness's and I'm not putting on the 'I'm so excited for you' face any more. The people I love know it and that's all that matters. I'm over the fake all about me friendships, I don't need them anyways.

I want mature people in my life. I don't have time for the bs anymore. I've got a career and a life. I'm sorry. I've got to do what is best for me right now and that is sleep. I'm always expected to be happy go lucky. I'm not, nothing's wrong, just being me. I can't hide me anymore.

I've learned that we grow up and grow apart. There's nothing I can do about that. I may not be getting married or having kids but I should be respected. My life is important too and if I choose to be alone in it or not go to an event then I'm sorry. I'm doing what's best for me and putting myself through emotional hell is not my idea of a good time. I'm done with emotional hell, I lived for everyone else and took care of them for so long that I can't do it any more. I'm moving on.

4th of July party

So last night I decided to adventure to the annual cookout my cousin holds. Very interesting. I get there around 9 p.m. because I had been tubing down the river all day. I was worn out and wanted nothing more than to go to bed but I decided that since an old 'friend' was going to be there I should go.

When I get to this shindig it is dark, I am averted from parking close to the fireworks launching area and park on the lower 40 of the field. I walk, with my sunfriend eyes, towards the mass number of people and see that they are playing the race on the side of a motorhome. SCORE! This excited me beyond belief, I go in that direction and see my parents. After a few minutes I decide to walk to see who else was there. I talked to a lot of family and friends and then see the boy. I walk past him and say hello, he says nothing but a kind 'hi' in the tone of 'who the heck are you?'

I brush it off and go talk to the party throwers and check out the band. Fun. From there I see the 'boy' again. I try to start a conversation but he isn't getting who I am. I have pride, I refuse to tell him. We are in the light and if he doesn't get it then I'm not going to tell him. So, I stay for a bit longer and decide to go home. I'm tired, a bit saddened that I am not memorable at all. (Even when we've hung out many times and talked even more on the phone.)

On my way home I call a girlfriend. We discussed how funny it is that when we really want someone to see us, they don't. Maybe he knew who I was and just didn't want to say anything. Maybe he's not interested. Our conversation goes to how much people change. I used to think this boy was hoooooootttttt. Not so much any more. He is attractive but not what I remember. Oh well, the party was a bust--but coming home and sleeping was great.

Bad Boy Syndrome

Why is it that we as women have something we call bad boy syndrome? We want nothing more than the boys that will make our lives hell on a regular basis? I say this as I watch a random CMT Crossroads of Jason Aldean and Bryan Adams.

I adore Jason. Yes, he is the perfect bad boy. Tattoos, earrings, built, torn jeans, scruff, hats, curses like a hot ass, sings and plays guitar? Damn. I want to go for a ride on his big green tractor please!

I've dated several boys who semi-fit this description, but good gracious! I truly think I need to go to some bars and find me one like him. I'll be happy to support his broke hot ass til he hits it big. Or even have what Sara Evans calls a Colemine relationship.
Know a bad boy? Give him my number, I ain't looking for serious just looking for a good time.

Life is too short.

I lost a friend yesterday and I don't want to know why.

After driving the long six hour trip home from a friend's wedding in the Midwest I get terrible news. My friend has died. No one knows what happened just that he was working in a tourist town and he was found dead. The police called his mother and told HER while she was driving on the interstate. I feel so terrible for their entire family. Now, I must say that I was better friends with him and epically his younger two siblings when I was in middle school--but none the less he was a great guy and my heart goes out to the entire family, including his daughter he hardly ever got to see. She will never know the great guy who gave her those beautiful eyes and her great personality.

Life is too short; live while you can. Just don't make stupid decisions you can't take back--they will haunt you forever.
